Labour Court recommends talks over Donaghmede Inn worker’s service

The Labour Court recommended that the present and former owners meet to establish who would be responsible for a worker’s prior service. Synnob Inns T/A Donaghmede Inn Limited opposed the union’s claim that the worker’s earlier service with the Madigan Group should be recognised after a transfer between licensed premises. The Court said it could not establish conclusive proof for the worker’s account, citing conflicting evidence and a lack of supporting documents. The recommendation was dated 30 June 2006.
