Labour Court recommends Phase II increases for Atlas Aluminium workers from 2006

The Labour Court recommended that Sustaining Progress Phase II increases for Atlas Aluminium craftworkers begin on 1 January 2006 and run for 18 months. The recommendation was dated 1 June 2006. Atlas Aluminium and the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union disputed whether a 2004 agreement exhausted the entitlements or covered only Phase I. The Court interpreted the agreement to exclude cost-increasing claims from 1 October 2004 to 1 January 2006, so it did not support applying Phase II increases for that period.
