The Labour Court recommended changes to some terms disputed by Waterford City Council and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, while declining other claims. Its recommendation was dated 29 May 2006. It recommended increasing the drainage allowance to €53 a week, held at that level, and including average regular rostered overtime when calculating holiday pay. It did not recommend increasing the €10-a-day scaffolding allowance or granting a chainsaw allowance. It recommended that the water inspectors' regrading issue be dealt with through benchmarking.
