The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for compensation on behalf of Tesco Ireland butchers in Dublin stores who said they lost free supplier samples and gifts after distribution was centralised. The recommendation was signed on 5 April 2006. The Court said the practice continued for at least three years after centralisation and that some butchers continued to benefit from it. It concluded the circumstances did not meet the criteria for compensation established in an earlier recommendation.
