Labour Court calls for renewed talks on An Bord Pleanala staffing claims

The Labour Court recommended that An Bord Pleanala and the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union resume discussions on implementing an Irish Productivity Centre review, aiming to reach a solution within six months. The recommendation was signed on 16 February 2006. The union sought changes including regrading planning posts and an added-years scheme for the Inspectorate. The Board said the proposals conflicted with public service pay policy and that the scheme would not be extended to its staff. The Court said the discussions did not constitute a claim in breach of the Sustaining Progress agreement.
