The Labour Court did not recommend compensation for a Special Needs Assistant after Our Lady Good Counsel School moved from Glanmire to Ballincollig. The recommendation was signed on 16 February 2006. The union said the move had lengthened the worker’s journey and sought compensation and continued transport. Management said she had accepted an additional Bus Escort role that provided transport and extra pay for travel time. The Court noted that the role paid €6,700 a year and took account of management’s qualified assurance about continuing transport when declining to recommend compensation.
