The Labour Court recommended that the Royal College Of Surgeons concede a union claim for a pay adjustment for 15 Medical Laboratory Technicians. The recommendation was signed on 13 February 2006. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought an interim adjustment in line with technician grades in Trinity College and the wider university sector. The Court found that a 1981 agreement provided for maintaining a national pay relativity and that there was no evidence it had been changed. It therefore found the claim well founded and recommended that it be conceded.
