The Labour Court recommended no concession of a staff nurse’s claim concerning her dismissal and other workplace complaints against the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (Ibts). The recommendation was signed on 4 October 2005. The union alleged unfair dismissal and failures of due process and workplace safety. The IBTS said the worker was treated fairly and that her contract ended on grounds of serious misconduct. The Court found the investigation fair, said substantial grounds justified the termination, and did not consider the other complaints well founded from an industrial-relations perspective.
