The Labour Court recommended that Cross Vetpharm Group Limited reinstate its offer of retrospective pay from 1 August 2004 to a maintenance/fitter technician. The recommendation, dated 26 August 2005, followed a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over pay and related shift and overtime payments. The union sought retrospection to February 2004, when it said another technician received a contract. The company said the posts had different responsibilities, and the Court noted that the additional responsibilities linked to the salary increase began in August 2005. It recommended that the offer be accepted in full and final settlement.
