Labour Court recommends 3% pay rise for Genesis Group workers

By Niamh Kearney

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Genesis Group pay workers the first two phases of the Sustaining Progress agreement, a total of 3%, from 1 July 2005, with the final phase six months later. The recommendation was signed on 25 July 2005. Amicus/Gpmu sought union recognition, bargaining rights and the pay increases. The Court said it could not recommend collective bargaining arrangements, but recommended that the company establish grievance and disciplinary procedures with employee representation. Employees had received no pay adjustment since 2003, and the Court took the company’s financial position into account when setting the pay timetable.
