The Labour Court did not recommend in favour of the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union’s claim that Leibherr Container Cranes maintain the net value of the pay package for craft workers on overseas crane crews. The recommendation was signed on 7 June 2005. The union said workers faced annual losses of €3,000 to €13,000 after Revenue’s foreign earnings tax incentive ended and argued the company had assured them their net package would be maintained. The Court did not accept that management had guaranteed a net package. It acknowledged the losses but said they arose from a change in Revenue policy.
Labour Court does not recommend union’s claim for compensation over tax changes
