Labour Court recommends against care assistant’s request for regularised employment

The Labour Court recommended against a care assistant’s request to regularise his employment with the North Western Health Board and the Health Service Executive. The recommendation was dated 2 June 2005. The worker had been employed on fixed-term contracts in Sligo and sought a full-time contract after his employment ended in May 2003. The Board said the temporary work had ended and no suitable work was available. The Court noted conflicts in the evidence, which it considered incomplete and unsatisfactory, and did not find in favour of the claimant.
