The Labour Court rejected a general operative’s compensation claim over alleged bullying, harassment and discrimination on grounds of colour, and recommended that Architectural & Metal Systems Ltd introduce a written anti-bullying and harassment policy. The recommendation was signed on 19 May 2005. The Court found no evidence that the worker’s dismissal was due to his colour. It said management had received no complaints during his employment, so it had not been possible to investigate the allegations. The union had alleged racist remarks and bullying; the company said no complaint had been made while the worker was employed.
