The Labour Court recommended that the Sunday Tribune and Dublin Print Group of Unions agree arrangements to pay all outstanding wage increases during the 2003–2005 Sustaining Progress agreement. The union sought dates for phased implementation after the newspaper said it would wait until it returned to profitability. The Court said the company had not pleaded inability to pay through the agreement’s procedures, so it could not entertain such a plea at that stage. The recommendation was signed on 15 May 2005.
