The Labour Court recommended that Sally West concede a worker’s claim for an ex-gratia redundancy payment, in a recommendation dated 25 April 2005. The worker, represented by Mandate, had worked as a general sales assistant in Castlebar before being made redundant in January 2004. The Court said the claim was reasonable on the union’s submission and recommended that the parties agree a payment schedule if payment proved difficult.
