In 2005, the Labour Court declined to recommend the re-grading claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the National Bus and Rail Workers Union for three Parcels Depot Persons at Iarnród Éireann’s Galway depot. The recommendation was signed on 22 April 2005. The unions sought re-grading to Traffic Coordinator, saying the workers had taken on additional duties without additional pay. The Court said it saw no basis to disagree with an independent investigator’s conclusion that there was no present basis for the re-grading claim, having regard to the company’s grading structure.
