Labour Court recommends enhanced Shannonside redundancy terms at Connacht Gold

The Labour Court recommended that former Shannonside Milk Products employees at Connacht Gold receive redundancy terms under the former agreement, enhanced to reflect the additional rebate. The recommendation was dated 24 March 2005. It also recommended negotiations on a new harmonised redundancy agreement for future redundancies across Connacht Gold. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought to extend the Shannonside agreement to all employees being made redundant; Connacht Gold argued that only two Shannonside employees were affected. The Court said the existing agreement should apply to those former Shannonside employees on a red-circled basis, enhanced to reflect the additional rebate.
