The Labour Court recommended an independent evaluation of the Buildings Officer post at the National College Of Art & Design and the Buildings Maintenance Manager post at the Dublin Institute of Technology. The recommendation was dated 28 February 2005. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought to maintain a pay alignment established in 1998. The Court said the Public Service Benchmarking Report had severed previous pay links, so it could not recommend the claimed alignment. It recommended that the parties appoint a suitably qualified person to compare the posts, including any additional work linked to planned capital investment at the College. Unresolved matters could be referred back to the Court after the evaluation.
