Labour Court recommends Cork City Council offer in inspectors' pay dispute

In 2005, the Labour Court recommended that Cork City Council's offer to fast-track two Chief Building and Street Inspectors to the maximum point of the LSI scale be accepted in full and final settlement of a pay and grading dispute. The offer applied from their appointment to the scale on 17 December 2003. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union had said it did not anticipate that the agreed pay increase would be nominal or that the lower grade could overtake the Chief Inspectors' rate. The Council said the workers had accepted their appointments knowing the proposed starting pay. The recommendation was signed on 24 February 2005.
