The Labour Court recommended that Shannon Aerospace Limited recognise Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for collective purposes in respect of flexitime workers. The recommendation, dated 15 February 2005, covers about 160 employees. The Court recommended that the parties meet to negotiate a framework agreement defining how they would engage and which groups it would cover. It said negotiations should be concluded within three months. The company had preferred to deal with the workers individually or in small groups; the Court noted it already recognised the union for most staff.
