The Labour Court recommended against the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association's claim to restore retirement-age pension entitlement for salaried staff aged 55 to 60 who took voluntary severance from Iarnrod Eireann. It found that two sets of departure terms had been agreed with unions and said those concerned appeared to have had reasonably adequate information. The Court urged the company to provide comprehensive pension information to staff considering departure. The recommendation was signed on 27 January 2005.
