The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Bus and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss a workable way to ensure the supervisory or leadhand role is covered at all times. The dispute concerned junior day mechanics taking on leadhand duties while covering for shift mechanics. The Court considered it illogical to require the most junior mechanic to take on all supervisory duties and sole responsibility for a garage. It signed the recommendation on 26 January 2005.
