In 2004, the Labour Court recommended intensive recruitment to fill 14 outstanding staff nurse posts at Moore Abbey, including consideration of qualified registered general nurses and use of agency nurses when needed. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought action on staffing and skills mix, while Sisters Of Charity Of Jesus And Mary, Moore Abbey cited its recruitment efforts and prior reviews. The Court said both sides acknowledged possible inadequacies in care standards and recommended partnership negotiations on nursing structure once staffing improved. The recommendation was dated 13 December.
