Labour Court recommends redeployment for Goldcrop workers

The Labour Court recommended that workers offered redeployment from Goldcrop Limited to Wicklow Garden Products accept the offer. The recommendation was dated 8 October 2004. The Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union had sought a voluntary severance package for four workers. Goldcrop Limited said work remained available and it was premature to discuss redundancy. The Court recommended that, should a redundancy situation arise when Goldcrop Limited finally ceased trading, selection should be discussed across the combined Goldcrop Limited and Wicklow Garden Products workforce.
