The Labour Court recommended that average overtime payments be included in Roscommon County Council workers’ annual leave pay from 1 January 2003. The recommendation was dated 4 October 2004. The Court also recommended calculating each worker’s average overtime payment annually and paying it in December. The dispute concerned implementation of an earlier recommendation on including average overtime in holiday pay. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought a calculation method, while the council said the agreement covered regular rostered overtime.
