In 2004, the Labour Court recommended €1,500 compensation for a worker dismissed by Aisling Hotel after an alleged cash-handling incident. The recommendation, dated 30 June 2004, followed an allegation that she failed to put €2.30 for a coffee in the till or issue a receipt. The worker denied the incident. The Court found the evidence was not conclusive enough to support gross misconduct and was not satisfied that the Hotel followed its disciplinary procedures. It recommended the compensation in full and final settlement of the dispute.
