The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union cooperate with International Paper Limited’s introduction of a hygiene code. The recommendation was dated 23 June 2004. The company wanted the code as part of its work towards the British Retail Consortium Hygiene Standard. The union sought payment for its introduction and raised concerns that workers could face discipline for breaches. The Court found the code was normal ongoing change under the pay agreement associated with Sustaining Progress.
