Labour Court recommends overtime rates and workplace changes at Goode Concrete

The Labour Court recommended that Goode Concrete Limited concede overtime rates sought by Agemo Trade Group for about 40 employees, and set out recommendations on safety, breaks, holiday pay and workplace procedures. The recommendation was dated 21 June 2004. The Court also recommended proper canteen facilities and that regular rostered overtime count towards holiday pay. It said the parties should discuss rates of pay and establish grievance and disciplinary procedures. The dismissed workers’ cases were to be referred jointly to a Rights Commissioner for adjudication.
