The Labour Court recommended that Dublin City Council increase its offer to seven plumbers providing emergency on-call cover to €1,500 each, in full and final settlement of claims for retrospective on-call payments. The recommendation was dated 21 June 2004. Amicus said the plumbers had regularly provided the service and lost about €4,000 each. The Council said its rostered service and allowance began in November 2002 and that retrospective payment was unwarranted. Its initial offer was €1,000 to each claimant.
