In 2004, the Labour Court recommended that Coca Cola Bottlers Ireland Killarney Depot and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union resume talks over pay for 14 Killarney Depot workers. The negotiations should conclude within two months, with outstanding matters referred back to the Court. The recommendation was signed on 14 June 2004. The union sought parity with workers at the Cork Depot, including consolidating proposed commission increases into basic pay while retaining existing commission rates. The company had offered a €10 weekly basic-pay increase and higher commission with potential increases of €27 to €45 a week, subject to productivity measures. The Court said further pay increases depended on productivity improvements that offset costs.
