The Labour Court recommended that Westmeath Offaly Independent Print Company Limited pay €1,000 compensation to a worker it found had been treated unfairly during a probationary dismissal. The worker said she received little training and was not told her work was deficient. The company said she had been warned about shortcomings and was unsuitable for a permanent role. The Court found she had not been given an opportunity to correct perceived deficiencies or told the issues could lead to dismissal. Its recommendation was dated 8 June 2004.
