In 2004, the Labour Court recommended incremental credit for relevant experience for the claimants involved, dating from when the practice ceased in April 2002. The Department Of Education & Science and the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union were parties to the dispute. The Court said supervision duties formed part of the workers’ terms and conditions, so there was no merit in that claim. It also found no grounds to extend extra personal vacation days for July work. The recommendation was dated 17 February 2004.
