The Labour Court recommended that Agtec Ireland Ltd establish a grievance procedure after a union application about pay increases and pension cover. The recommendation was dated 26 November 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said its members had not received national agreement pay increases and wanted discussions about a pension scheme. Agtec said the pay claim was late, pension costs would have major implications and it preferred communicating directly with staff. The Court said it had not been given information to assess the pay claim against comparable employments. It could not recommend pension negotiations because that would provide for collective bargaining. It recommended a grievance procedure, through which the pay and pension issues should be processed.
