The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union accept Cadbury (Ireland) Limited’s offer to implement the Sustaining Progress pay agreement. The recommendation was signed on 14 November 2003. The unions’ 2003 House Agreement claims for production workers included a 9% pay rise, increased plus and bonus payments, an extra day of annual leave and improved bereavement leave. The Court said the company’s position against terms beyond the national agreement was reasonable in the circumstances, and recommended reviewing the house-agreement position alongside any replacement national agreement.
