The Labour Court recommended that Galway Bay FM not concede a union claim for pay parity for a radio presenter. The recommendation was signed on 4 November 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought a pay review, citing the presenter’s qualifications, eight years’ service and programme listenership. Galway Bay FM disputed the claimed increase in listenership. The Court said her salary had been adjusted under national pay agreements and could not recommend the cost-increasing claim under Sustaining Progress.
