The Labour Court recommended a three-month monitoring period for quick aircraft turnarounds by Aer Lingus cabin crew as part of a dispute with the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union over a 4% payment under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness. The recommendation was signed on 24 October 2003. The Court recommended that Aer Lingus roster crew for quick turnarounds, with cabin crew cooperation and monitoring of the effects on working conditions before the parties reported back. It also recommended continued talks on cabin tidying, deplaning and the pay bar, and maintaining €17,000 a year in incremental-credit payments during monitoring. Subject to acceptance of the recommendations, cabin crew should receive the 4% payment from 1 March 2003 and 3% under the Survival Plan from 1 July 2003.
