The Labour Court recommended that Waterford City Council offer four Regional Sports Centre attendants a Sunday premium of €25 and a €1,500 lump sum in lieu of retrospection, subject to their accepting a clocking system. The recommendation was signed on 28 October 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought compensation for clocking in and out and a weekend premium. The Court said the Council’s attendance recording system was reasonable and a minor change, noting that similar grades already used it. The offer was to settle both claims in full and final terms, with the lump sum pro-rated for short-term employees.
