The Labour Court did not recommend higher-duty pay from the first day of acting up or time-and-a-half for the first overtime hour for about 590 clerical staff at Iarnrod Eireann. The recommendation was signed on 16 October 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Transport Salaried Staffs' Association brought the claims. The Court said the claims were cost increasing and debarred under the terms of Sustaining Progress, so it did not recommend conceding them.
