The Labour Court did not recommend an 8% pay increase for five Tyco Healthcare workers at its Casla plant, in a recommendation signed on 15 October 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said their pay had fallen behind that of colleagues at the Tullamore plant. The Court recommended that the company consider a union proposal if it would have a cost-neutral effect. It noted that Tullamore’s pay increases had been linked to productivity and its manufacturing operation, while earlier increases appeared to acknowledge some connection between the sites.
