The Labour Court recommended severance terms, phased pay increases and redeployment measures in a dispute between Diageo Bailey Global Supply and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union affecting 97 workers and 20 long-term temporary employees. The recommendation was dated 15 September 2003.
The Court recommended the company's Offer 3 severance terms. It also recommended raising the first training-linked pay increase from 2% to 3%, adding a 2% increase four months after the new process begins, and doubling the lump sum for the foregone 2% increase for workers already above the new standard operator rate. The union was to accept redeployment of two craft helpers, who could choose to return to bottling.
