Labour Court recommends Grade 1 staff continue completing line-clearance forms

The Labour Court recommended that Grade 1 packaging-line employees at Olympus Diagnostica GmbH complete line-clearance forms as required, with the issue to be addressed when the current agreement expires. The recommendation, in a dispute brought by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, was dated 29 July 2003. The union said completing the forms was a Grade 3 operator’s responsibility and that an additional Grade 3 post had been agreed for the task. The Court found that the claimants had signed the forms for a significant period outside the time they did so under protest, and that signing was implicit in their job description under the viability agreement.
