In 2003, the Labour Court did not find 10 nursing staff entitled to relocation payments under the Castlerea Formula. The recommendation, concerning staff who moved to a new high-support hostel in Listowel, County Kerry, was dated 23 July 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Psychiatric Nurses Association sought €2,320 for each of the 10 staff. The Southern Health Board argued that the formula did not cover the transfers. The Court described the formula as the basis for relocation allowances and rejected the claim under it.
