The Labour Court recommended that Iarnrod Eireann concede the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association's claim to apply a 15% increase to weekend allowance overtime rates for Technical Executives in the Infrastructure Division. The union sought the increase backdated to 1 March 2002. The recommendation was dated 17 July 2003. Iarnrod Eireann had applied the increase to hourly overtime rates but not weekend allowance overtime rates. The Court found no justification for withholding it from the weekend allowance, given the increase had been applied to some other allowances. The union agreed to be bound by the recommendation.
