The Labour Court recommended that An Post's Medical Officer review a postal sorter's roster after the worker sought more early shifts and exclusion from night shifts and Saturdays on medical grounds. The recommendation was dated 7 July 2003. The worker, employed at the Dublin Mails Centre, said he was continually assigned to the 2pm-to-10.30pm shift and that it affected his health and social life. An Post said it had adjusted his roster after consulting its Chief Medical Officer and had little scope to offer earlier duties. The Court said An Post had sought to accommodate him and found little or no scope to meet his request for earlier duties. It made no finding on the health effects he claimed.
