The Labour Court recommended a process for assessing and paying Atlas Aluminium employees’ outstanding wage retrospection, with minimum payments equal to 12% of arrears at the October and January assessments. The recommendation was signed on 23 June 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought clarity on when outstanding retrospection would be paid. The Court recommended individual statements of amounts due, regular financial assessments by SIPTU and company representatives, and access for the union to quarterly management accounts. The first assessment was to take place on 1 October 2003, with further assessments every three months.
