In 2003, the Labour Court recommended weekly basic rates of €381 for van drivers, €398 for counterhands and €502 for fully qualified fitters at Sam Hire in the Dublin/Wicklow region. The recommendation, dated 30 April, followed a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court also recommended a 39-hour standard week, time-and-a-half overtime, 15 days' paid sick leave and a defined-contribution pension funded equally at 4% by the company and employees. It recommended grievance, disciplinary, bullying and harassment procedures, but did not recommend collective bargaining on terms and conditions.
