The Labour Court recommended that Medisize Donegal Healthcare Limited pay the outstanding balance of redundancy payments to two workers whose 2001 redundancies were covered by an earlier recommendation. The decision was dated 7 April 2003. Amicus/Aeeu sought the balance after the earlier recommendation provided for three weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory payments, with a later review of the company’s finances. The Court said the company’s circumstances had improved enough to allow the residual amount to be paid. The recommendation applied only to the two redundancies in 2001.
