The Labour Court recommended that Sunday World pay Bindery Department workers title money for 11 weeks after they worked under protest when the Sunday Tribune was introduced. The Court said workers who followed procedures received nothing, while workers who took unofficial action were paid. The Court rejected a separate Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) claim for payments linked to the introduction of the Sunday Tribune and Daily Mirror. It found that the 1998 agreement allowed the company to introduce new publications without extra payments. The recommendation was signed on 1 April 2003. The Court said the difference in treatment between the workers who followed procedures and those who took unofficial action was unfair and encouraged poor industrial relations.
