The Labour Court recommended that Dakota Packaging and the Graphical Paper & Media Union (Gpmu) arrange an industrial engineer’s assessment of staffing requirements on the 4 Colour 604 machine, with both sides accepting the report. If the report and the other flexibility measures in proposals dated 20 May 2002 were accepted, the Court recommended retrospective payment of the 4% final phase of the PPF increase and the 2% and 1% lump sums. It said the payments should be made in three phases within 12 months. The recommendation was signed on 25 March 2003.
