In 2003, the Labour Court did not recommend an extra €2 an hour for six welders at Johnson Filtration Systems Limited T/A Johnson Screens, part of the Weatherford Group. The Amalgamated Engineering And Electrical Union said a new welding process warranted additional pay. The company said a 10.2% increase agreed in November 2000 partly anticipated the work. The Court considered the process covered by that agreement and did not recommend conceding the claim. Its recommendation was dated 7 March 2003.
